U.S-Africa Infrastructure Conference To Discuss Airports

Issues affecting infrastructure and investment opportunities in African airports form part of the thrust of discussions at the U.S. – Africa Infrastructure Conference scheduled to hold at Washington D.C. from October 6 to 8, 2008. The conference to be hosted by Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is expected to attract participation from the private and public sectors in the United States of America and Africa, with a specific interest in infrastructure-related industry investments including that of airports. “This conference will provide U.S. companies with the blueprint on how to get the highest return on infrastructure investment in Africa,” states Mr., Stephen Hayes, President and Chief Executive Officer, CCA. The conference is to be sponsored by The Boeing Company, ExxonMobil, Raytheon Company, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Export-Import Bank of the US and some other organisations.

Established in 1993, The CCA has about 200 U.S. companies dedicated to strengthening the commercial relationship between the U.S. and Africa. CCA members represent nearly 85 percent of total U.S. private sector investments in Africa.
