BA moves to terminal 5, October 2008

The move to terminal 5 will give BA latitude to improve operationsBritish Airways is to complete its switch of operations from Terminal 4 to its new Terminal 5 base in London Heathrow at the end of October 2008 when the building will be completed.

The third phase of the movement  is expected to take place in September 2008 and would amount to the movement of 30 daily departures and 30 daily arrivals, serving 29 destinations. Flight services to and from  African destinations of Abuja, Cairo, Cape Town and Lagos have been involved in the second phase of the movement.

Meanwhile, British Airways which is a member of Oneworld airline alliance, is investing US$30 million in the creation of a new Check-In Pavilion at the JFK Terminal in New York, USA. The passenger lounge has a dedicated curbside drop-off facility for the First Class and top tier members of BA’s frequent flyer programme.
