The 15th Aviation & Allied Business Leadership Conference was held at the Hilton Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Conference had the theme: ‘Air Transport in Africa: One Continent, One Strategy.’

The Leadership Conference was declared open by His Excellency Girma Woldegiorgis, President, Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, who was represented by State Minister of Transport, Ethiopia, Mr. Getachew Mengistie.
The Conference had in attendance Minister of Aviation, Nigeria, Mr. Babatunde Omotoba; Minister of Transport, Namibia, Hon. Helmut Angula; and Minister of Works & Housing, Botswana, Mr. Johnnie Swartz, represented by Mr. Carter Morupisi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works & Transport, Botswana.

Heads of multilateral agencies were represented by Head of Transport and Tourism Division, African Union Commission, Mr. David Kajange; Regional Secretary of Airports Council International Africa Region, Mr. Ali Tounsi; Director, Central Africa, & Head of Air Transport, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Mr. Hachim Koumare; and Mr. Christian Folly-Kossi, Secretary General of African Airlines Association (AFRAA).

The 15th Leadership Conference was attended by over 200 delegates. There were presentations by 24 eminent speakers and session chairmen on various topics grouped under Airlines, Finance & Acquisition, Panel Discussion, Airports & Infrastructure, Safety & Security and Capacity Building.
