Starting mid-2011, Ethiopian Airlines says it is launching new
flight services to Malakal, South Sudan. According to ET, the
new flight service to Malakal will bring Ethiopian's international
destinations to sixty two. It is also the second destination in
South Sudan.
The CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mr.
Tewolde Gebre Marian, remarks: "The new flight services to Malakal
provide the best connectivity and convenience for business people
as well as the general public of the South Sudan."
ET notes that the new flights will
connect Malakal to the vast Ethiopian route network worldwide via
the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport hub.
The airline discloses that it will
serve Malakal on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Malakal is located in the upper
Nile region of the South Sudan. The region is rich in oil and has
various investments currently taking place.
