In efforts to effectively link-up
the UAE with Egypt's major cities, EgyptAir says it is launching
daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Alexandria starting
mid-2011. Mr. Ashraf Hassan, EgyptAir's Dubai District Manager,
notes that the airline considers the UAE as one of the most
important markets in the Middle East. Also, Dubai embraces a great
number of expatriate Egyptians. He adds: "On the other hand,
Alexandria is one of the major touristic and travel places in Egypt
and a fertile market for Arab and Foreign investments."
EgyptAir discloses that it will be
operating the flight by its Airbus 320/200 which provides 145
seats, and is suitable with the short and medium range flights.
Moreover, the airline notes that the flights will be operated to
Nozha Airport in downtown Alexandria which will reduce the effort
and time of EgyptAir's customers. Further, the new route will
enable its customers have a new access point between Egypt and the
UAE. The airline is currently operating 28 non-stop flights between
Cairo and the UAE with 14 weekly flights to Dubai, and 7 weekly
flights to both Sharjha and Abu Dhabi.
