The Civil Aviation Authority of
Botswana (CAAB) says air operators and interested parties who want
to participate in the fully liberalised air transport market in
future should show interest by responding to an 'Expression of
Interest' notification made by the CAA.
The Authority notes that CAAB and
Botswana Government are desirous of knowing how many operators are
likely to apply to participate in the fully liberalised Botswana
Aviation Market, adding that operators (including potential
operators) are urged to express interest and indicate what domestic
routes and probable schedule they would be interested in. The CAA
discloses that when finally in place, the regulations will allow
CAAB to license interested Botswana operators - subject to meeting
certain minimum requirements such as nationality, adequate
insurance, AOC and financial fitness - to start operating scheduled
flights within Botswana.
