Robert Hutchison To Serve As CANSO’s Director Of Communications, Marketing

The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) says it has appointed Mr. Robert Hutchison to serve as Director of Communications and Marketing. According to CANSO, Mr. Hutchison assumed office on March 1, 2011. He reports to the Director General, Mr. Graham Lake.

"He has an ideal blend of experience having worked in air traffic control and flight operations, combined with handling the communication and marketing requirements for large global organisations. In his new position, Mr. Hutchison will have overall responsibility for all CANSO's communication and marketing activities to ensure that it is effectively reaching its target audiences both internal and external, developing the CANSO brand and operating effectively as the global voice of the air traffic management industry. He is also expected to support the Director General and the Executive Committee in helping shape the association's vision and strategy.

Mr. Hutchison began his career as an Air Traffic Con-troller in the Royal Air Force before moving to SITA Flight Operations. He has held a number of senior comm-unication and marketing roles with major global organisations including Ernst & Young and Accenture. Most recently, he was Director of Communications and Marketing for CHEP, a leading services provider to the supply chain industry. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has an MBA from Kingston Business School.
