At a gala event held in Maputo city
recently, LAM-Mozambique Airlines brought together travel, tourism
and cargo agencies that work in the domestic and regional segments
as the airline rewarded outstanding performance for 2010. The
airline states that the prizes were awarded on the basis of the
amount of tickets sold and the volume of cargo handled through
LAM.
Apart from the awards for travel
agencies, LAM also recognized members of Frequent Passenger Program
'Flamingo Club,' who did major number of journeys and accumulated
miles in 2010. The airline launched flights to Lisbon, starting
April, using a B767-300 aircraft. The airline's Chairman of the
Board, Mr. Jose Viegas, observes that "with this route, we enlarged
our horizons, offering to the market one more option in your
journeys to Europe, via Lisbon, as well as to the destinations in
Latin America, particularly Brazil, through agreement established
with TAP for carrying out four weekly flights".
