Air Seychelles Receives First Boeing 767 In New
Livery
Air Seychelles says it has taken
delivery of its first Boeing 767 aircraft painted in the national
airline's new corporate livery. The airline adds that the aircraft
arrived from Abu Dhabi, where it had undergone two weeks of
repainting works on its fuselage.
Air Seychelles CEO, Mr. Bram
Steller, notes: "The new livery forms part of a new and recently
launched corporate branding of the national airline where vibrant
and tropical colours have been used to blend in with the natural
beauty and environment of the Seychelles. This is also seen as our
contribution to promote these islands as a long-haul tourism
destination".
Meanwhile, Air Seychelles has
announced the suspension of operations to Singapore, while also
identifying new routes to the Far East in co-operation with other
airlines.
The airline explains that the
withdrawal of Singapore from its network is mainly due to heavy
losses in revenue based on operating costs, low uptake of seats and
cargo space. It adds that this came about due to increased
competition from other carriers offering multiple shopping
destinations such as Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and
Guangzhou, while tourist arrivals from Singapore have been very
low.
