Boeing says TAAG Angola Airlines in
conjunction with a Boeing team recently worked together to finalize
the airline's Information Memorandum for assisting the airline with
financing two 777-300ER through the U.S. Export-Import Bank (ExIm
Bank).
According to Boeing, the airline and members of the Boeing team
travelled to Washington, D.C. lately to present the final
memorandum to ExIm. The memorandum will support TAAG's application
for a loan guarantee to finance the two 777-300ERs being delivered
to TAAg in 2011. According to Dr. Efigenia Martins, TAAG Board
Administrator of Finance, "Boeing works with the airline from
beginning all the way to delivery, including providing valuable
information and insight into our Information Memo."
Boeing adds that its Sales and Marketing Team, along with Boeing
Capital Corporation, have been working with TAAG on the Information
Memorandum for the past eight months. The plane-maker reveals that
the airplanes will be financed by HSBC from the UK.
"The role that export credit plays is essential on several
levels," notes Mr. Anil Patel, BCC Senior Director. "Ex-Im's loan
guarantees help airlines like TAAG get access to affordable
financing to allow timely deliveries of our products, and the
Bank's support levels the playing field for U.S. industry to
compete globally and sustain, and grow, millions of aviation
export-related jobs."
